JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Ramelius Resources MD Mark Zeptner said on Thursday that the company would build on the strong momentum of the final quarter of its 2016 financial year to deliver higher output in the 2017 financial year.
Production bounced back strongly in the June quarter, with the group producing 32 752 oz from its Western Australia mines, compared with 26 657 oz in the March quarter, finishing the 2016 financial year with total output of 110 839 oz.
“We have finished the 2016 financial year above 110 000 oz of gold and we will further build on this with 135 000 oz in the 2017 financial year,” Zeptner stated.
The Mt Magnet mine would produce 65 000 oz in 2017, while Vivien would contribute 55 000 oz and the Kathleen Valley mine would produce 15 000 oz.
Zeptner reported that the Vivien mine had started stope production, which would have a significant impact on its gold production and bottom line margins going forward.
