PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Ramelius Resources has beaten its September quarter production guidance by increasing its production to 36 179 oz.
The September quarter performance compares with a stated guidance of between 31 000 oz and 35 000 oz and a year-earlier performance of 23 637 oz.
During the three months under review, the Mt Magnet operation contributed 17 121 oz of gold, while the Kathleen Valley operation delivered 11 102 oz of gold and the Vivien mine 7 956 oz. All the company's operating mines are located in Western Australia.
Ramelius told shareholders on Monday that given that gold production for the quarter exceeded the guidance range, the company expected unit costs for the quarter to be significantly lower than the A$1 100/oz previously forecast.
“Consecutive record quarters from the operations team is an excellent performance result, carried out with a minimum of fuss,” said MD Mark Zeptner.
“The December 2016 quarter will be a particularly busy period with Kathleen Valley winding down and mining commencing at both Blackmans and Water Tank Hill, although, to be honest, we are well experienced in this area.”
