PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Mt Cattlin mine, in Western Australia, this week started ore commissioning and has produced its first lithium concentrate.
Since the start of production, the processing circuit has been balanced, with a final operational punchlist created. Bottlenecks have been identified and rectified, Galaxy Resources reported on Wednesday.
The company expected 24-hour continuous production over the next two weeks, with planned maintenance scheduled for every seventh day.
The Mt Cattlin mine is expected to ship its first spodumene in December of this year.
