JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim-listed Katoro Gold has received a letter of issue for the continuation of the second phase of the environmental- and social-impact assessment (Esia) at its Tanzania-based Imweru project.
"We are extremely pleased with the sustained momentum and progress on the Imweru resource development programme," chairperson Louis Coetzee said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Imweru mining right application is scheduled for submission in October.
Subject to securing additional funding and contingent on expansion of the Imweru mineral resource base, the long-term strategy for the project is to increase production to 100 000 oz/y of gold and develop a mineral resource base in excess of one-million ounces.
