A Benoni-based tree feller recently purchased a Sumitomo excavator from equipment supplier ELB Equipment and had the machine painted a distinctive bright green colour, to ensure that its brand is easily recognised in the field.
Chop-em owner and arborist David Kretzschmar explains the reason for the selection of a Sumitomo excavator. “We know how important it is to have equipment that won’t let you down when you are in the field and far from home. Just like the other Sumitomo we have been operating for over four years that has gone about its work effortlessly and reliably, we expect the latest Sumitomo SH210-6 will be similarly tough and reliable in decades to come.
“What’s more, ELB Equipment will be there right beside us – just like they always have been with the other machine and through the process of buying our new machine – from planning to procurement, finance and delivery.”
ELB Equipment’s Keon Kardolus emphasises the company’s team effort involved in painting and delivering the distinctive green tree felling excavator, quipping that other tree fellers will be left feeling “…green with envy about the ‘greenest’ excavator in the country”.
He adds that the Japanese brand Sumitomo SH210-6 is one of the most popular excavators, recognised for its reliability, award winning fuel consumption, ease of maintenance and access to accessories and after-sales services through ELB Equipment. The machines are used in a variety of applications in mining and construction, as well as in forestry and bush clearing to topple trees and excavate roots.
