Steel products supplier Stewarts & Lloyds has added its support to the Business4SA initiative by committing to pay small and medium enterprise (SME) suppliers within 30 days of the date of supplier invoice.
Stewarts & Lloyds group directors Derek Franks and Graham Thomas recognise the enormous challenges faced by SMEs during the Covid-19 pandemic and are proud to support the initiative.
Stewarts & Lloyds has a long history in South Africa and is a key player in the supply of steel and tube, industrial hardware, pumps, irrigation and related products. The company employs over 900 people across 32 branches nationwide.
“We understand the impact that healthy business practices and relationships have on furthering small business interests and employment in the country and are proud to add our voices to the #Payin30 campaign,” said Franks.
Investment vehicle SA SME Fund director Lisa Klein said it was "great" to have Stewarts & Lloyds on board.
"Having a large private company join this initiative will hopefully encourage other large private companies to do the same," she said.
