Sulzer has launched the SSF150, an addition to its SALOMIX agitator range. The new size is designed for use mainly in large pulp mills but is said to offer excellent performance in all industrial segments.
Typical applications will be storage towers, pulpers and bleaching towers. The agitators in the SSF range are ATEX approved, making them suitable for use in the chemical process industry.
The side-mounted gear-driven agitators are used for mixing and agitating process liquids in demanding industrial applications, such as viscous liquids as well as fibrous and other slurries. Sulzer says that its SSF agitators are designed to ensure a homogenous mixing result, high process reliability and efficiency, low operating costs and low environmental stress.
The SSF agitators are said to have a consistent design and stainless steel construction, a flange-mounted motor and an integrated, compact, and efficient one-stage gearbox. Accessories such as support legs, Dilco integrated dilution system, sealing water equipment, bearing unit monitoring, grease dispenser for the front bearing, and Sulzer Sense condition monitoring are available for the SSF150. The new agitator spans from 110 kW/150 hp up to 160 kW/200 hp.
The SALOMIX agitators are designed to be easy to install, and there is a high degree of standardisation of spare parts, helping to reduce costs. Sulzer asserts that the new, high-efficiency hydraulics help to save energy costs and that the robust construction reduces the need for maintenance. In addition, Sulzer Sense condition monitoring can be used for preventive maintenance.
