PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Red 5 has eased shareholder fears, reporting that no damage was identified, or disruption caused at the Siana gold project, in the Philippines, following a large earthquake that occurred late on Friday.
The miner said on Monday that monitoring and engineering inspections, including the openpit, underground declines, site infrastructure and tailings and waste storage facilities, had been carried out at the Siana project over the weekend, with no disturbances apparent.
Normal operations at the Siana mine continued apace.
Red 5 last week reported a significant material movement from the northern wall of the openpit operations, saying an assessment of the material movement was under way.
