The yearly SatCom Africa, which is co-locating with World Rural Telecoms, running at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, from May 20 to 21, is Africa's most comprehensive satellite and telecommunications business event, says events organiser Terrapin.
Attracting over 1 200 attendees yearly, this is the premier event for stakeholders and decision makers from satellite operators, owners, and launching and propulsion manufacturers to discuss the best strategies to tackle the projects and satellite challenges facing Africa.
The two-day senior level conference will give delegates insight into the state of the industry, information on existing and new projects, as well as big opportunities on the horizon, with a focus on Africa.
Key speakers include satellite company association Global VSat Forum secretary general David Hartshorn, nonprofit organisation (NPO) Project Isizwe CEO Alan Knott-Craig Jr, Association of African Internet Service Provider Associations executive secretary Eric Osiakwan, and NPO Digital Empowerment Foundation new media project specialist Osama Manzar.
According to Terrapin, “the speakers are discussing driving the African satellite and telecommunications agenda forward and address identifying high performance energy investments in Africa respectively.”
No-fail networking from beginning to end, with the company’s new event application and portal, attendees can plan their conference and seminar sessions, identify exhibitors and network with other attendees and delegates.
“Satcom Africa 2013 was a great event. I see the growth from last year, as over 1200 people are expected to attend. It reinforces that the event guarantees a great offering and business potential,” says iWay Africa MD Job Ndege.
“The African communications market is massive, but it is complex. Satcom Africa is the go-to destination to understand how to tap into the business. Added to this, the show has great upsell potential,” explains Hartshorn.
