VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – TSX-V-listed Santacruz Silver Mining on Friday reported the death of an employee at Level 4 of the Rosario silver/gold/zinc/lead mine, located in San Luis Potosi state, Mexico.
Santacruz has temporarily suspended activities at the Rosario mine following the accident that took place on Wednesday, saying it is cooperating with authorities to investigate the cause of this accident and taking all possible measures to ensure this does not happen in the future.
Santacruz on Thursday said it was busy with development of Levels 4.5 and 5 in areas of greater structural complexity and narrower veins, resulting in the increased mining dilution and lower realised grades during the third quarter ended September.
