A single-platform solution enables fleet managers to monitor, control and record temperature conditions across refrigerated assets in real time and allows drivers to provide proof of temperature consistency upon delivery.
Refrigerated cargo must be transported under a certain temperature range, as unsteady temperatures can damage goods such as medicines, foods and electronics. Maintaining temperature consistency is also an important public safety consideration, as incorrect temperatures can give rise to foodborne illnesses.
Bridgestone’s fleet management solution, Webfleet, has introduced its new cold chain solution to help temperature-controlled fleets maintain cargo quality and safety, with the aim of avoiding costs from damaged goods or noncompliance.
The Webfleet Cold Chain telematics solution allows fleet managers to monitor, control and record temperature using a single-platform solution for all refrigerated trucks, vans and trailers.
Refrigerated fleets benefit from enhanced safeguards for temperature-sensitive products, simplifying cold chain compliance with real-time temperature control and monitoring, allowing both fleet operators and drivers to act quickly to address adverse temperature events and reduce the risk of spoiled goods. Real-time insights also enable drivers to provide proof of temperature consistency upon delivery.
“Webfleet Cold Chain provides temperature-controlled fleets with the tools and insights they need to thrive. Our solution makes meeting increased regulations and standards much easier—and all from a single platform,” says Webfleet sales director Justin Manson.
The cold chain solution is designed to support any refrigerated fleet and is said to be suitable for semi-trailers, rigid-body trucks or delivery vans – as long as the vehicles are equipped with refrigeration devices that are utilised to keep cargo at correct temperatures.
“The feature will be available in both European and international markets where Webfleet provides services,” adds Manson.
