The Cementation Engineering range of high pressure mining products, from valve manufacturer AVK Valves Southern Africa, ensures reliability, quality, durability, innovation and safety, making it ideal for the mining industry, says AVK Valves industrial division manager Riaan Kloppers.
The range includes grouting pumps, water cabinets, cock valves, tele pipes and other accessories.
AVK Valves leverages its extensive knowledge and understanding of the valves sector to perfect its products, with some products boasting improved longevity compared to competitor products while other products offer a more compact design and improved efficiency to deliver higher volumes, explains Kloppers.
“Finding simple solutions to challenges that can easily be maintained on site by the end-user to minimise downtime and maintenance is our main goal,” he says.
AVK Valves’ in-house research and development (R&D) process, along with special technologies employed by the company, ensures that its products consistently provide the best cost of ownership and durability.
One such innovation in the AVK Cementation range is the design of its grouting pumps, which the company aimed to develop into robust, compact and simplified units, while still being capable of delivering the output required in extreme environments, such as mining.
As the pumps are manufactured locally in South Africa, AVK Valves is able to conduct continuous adjustments and improvements throughout the R&D phase of the product, leading to noticeable improvements in mining operations, says Kloppers.
He notes that the harsh environment of mining operations necessitates products that prioritise quality and robustness.
“Failures in these environments can lead not only to loss of production, which is much more expensive than the product cost, but even personal injury or loss of life,” notes Kloppers.
By focusing on product quality, AVK Valves ensures that its products contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of mining operations. Further, the Cementation range achieves this while remaining a cost-effective solution for mining operations.
AVK Valves continuously invests in R&D to address the specific needs and challenges of the African mining sector.
Further, the company also offers training through its academy, ensuring that end-users and clients are well-equipped to use and maintain AVK products.
