PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Northern Star Resources temporarily ceased operations at its Paulsens mine, in Western Australia, following a fatality at the site.
The miner said on Monday that a contract worker had become seriously unwell at the mine site and had passed away.
Investigations into the incident were now under way.
No other workers were involved in the incident.
The project has a 240 000 t/y capacity and delivered 22 074 oz of gold in the quarter ended September 30.
