VANCOUVER (miningweekly.com) – Gold explorer Osisko Mining has reported more significant intercepts as it progresses an 800 000 m drill programme at its Windfall Lake project, located in the Abitibi greenstone belt of Quebec.
Highlights from the latest batch of 27 intercepts in 18 drill holes focused on infill and expansion drilling in the adjoining Lynx deposit, assayed 479 g/t gold over 2 m in hole OSK-W-17-1169, and 27.4 g/t gold over 2.2 m in OSK-W-17-1128.
The TSX-listed company is putting out an enormous volume of drilling results, reporting significant intercepts as it progresses more than halfway through the massive drill campaign. Two weeks ago, Osisko reported hitting 301 g/t gold over 6.2 m at the Lynx zone in drill hole OSK-W-17-909.
In order to save on construction costs, Osisko plans to build the mill at Lebel-sur-Quevillon, located about 100 km from Windfall Lake, to reduce permitting timelines and remove the power line and camp costs. The property is also prospective for gold mineralisation.
