PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Mining at the Old Pirate gold mine, in the Northern Territory, has now been completed, owner ABM Resources said on Friday.
ABM reported that the December 2015 mine plan for the Old Pirate operation had forecast gold production to reach 12 000 oz between December and the mine closure.
However, the company noted that provisional results indicated that this target had been marginally exceeded.
Meanwhile, processing at the Coyote plant would be completed within the first half of April, after which all gold-bearing material would be recovered from circuit and the plant placed on care and maintenance.
Final gold recovery and reconciliation would be completed in May, with the off-site stripping of loaded carbon.
