PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Iron-ore miner BC Iron on Friday reported that exploration at the Mulla Mulla mining areas, in the jointly held Nullagine project of Western Australia, had proven up.
The Mulla Mulla area contains three prospective mining areas, which are located near the existing joint venture (JV) infrastructure.
BC Iron said that assays received from the Mulla Mulla 2 and Mulla Mulla 3 areas had confirmed the presence of significant iron mineralisation with good continuity, which provided further support for the areas as potential satellite development opportunities on an existing mining lease, and near existing operational infrastructure.
“We are encouraged by the assays received from Mulla Mulla to date. These mesas continue to show the potential that our technical team identified as attractive satellite development opportunities near the existing operational areas of the Nullagine JV,” said BC Iron MD Morgan Ball.
He pointed out that environmental, native title and heritage work were all well progressed, which would facilitate the development of the mesas should further work continue to support this.
BC Iron would work to prepare mineral resource estimates and ore reserves for the Mulla Mulla 2 and Mulla Mulla 3.
