PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Matilda/Wiluna gold project, in Western Australia, produced 9 240 oz of gold during its first quarter of production. The mine achieved its first gold pour in October last year.
ASX-listed Blackham Resources said on Monday that 5 010 oz of the quarterly production was produced in the month of December.
A total of 211 203 t of ore was milled during the quarter, at an average grade of 1.53 g/t gold, with Blackham saying that crushing and grinding throughput rates had increased through the quarter, coinciding with an increase in the mill feed grade from November to December.
The company is currently ramping up production to its Stage 1 target of 100 000 oz/y.
