JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed junior Marmota is considering various options to bring its Aurora Tank gold project, in South Australia, into production, one of which is to treat ore at fellow listed WPG Resources Challenger gold processing plant, 50 km to the north-east.
Marmota and WPG have executed a memorandum of understanding to investigate ways for the processing of Aurora Tank ore at Challenger, whether by toll treatment, joint venture, profit sharing or other arrangements.
Marmota carried out its first drilling programme at Aurora Tank, in the Gawler Craton, in September 2016 and a year later reported outstanding 1 m intersections, including 101 g/t gold.
At the end of last month, Marmota reported the first metallurgical testwork from Aurora Tank, returning 94% to 97% gold recoveries.
