Owing to its recent move to larger premises, fastening systems manufacturer Easyhold will increase its stockholding and provide better service for its growing customer base, says operations director Simon Barnard.
Having moved into its New-Germany headquarters, in KwaZulu-Natal, in April, he notes that the new premises will provide the capacity needed for the company to expand its product offering by increasing its activity in the import market.
Barnard says that, while the company has always been a light importer of materials that are not readily accessible in South Africa, a drive to contain manufacturing costs and maintain a competitive pricing structure, without compromising on end-product quality, has resulted in Easyhold increasing its imported offerings from China and Taiwan.
“Importing . . . brings its own challenges, and the volatility of the rand and the economic uncertainty prevailing in South Africa have made it difficult to break into this market. However, we have done extensive market research and identified manufacturers overseas who produce the best-quality products with the most competitive pricing.”
Product Range
Easyhold is well known for its wall plugs, which are available in different sizes and can be used with a high-quality cable tie to secure cables and pipes – ranging from 5 mm to 100 mm in diameter – into mortar. Easyhold wall plugs can withstand a maximum pull-out force of up to 122 kg, which makes them useful for large industrial projects and do-it-yourself projects.
The company’s range of products also includes junction boxes, which are widely used in the telephone, intercom, computer and security industries. Owing to the success of this product in South Africa, Easyhold offers more than 30 versions of this product and is continually evolving to meet industry demands and standards.
Easy Trunking, moreover, enables cables to be concealed in corners, in wall-to-floor, wall-to-wall, or wall-to-ceiling applications. Once the cables are placed in position, brackets are installed over the cables and a cover is clipped onto the brackets.
All fasteners produced by Easyhold have been tested and approved by the South African Bureau of Standards, which tests the pull-out force of the wall plugs on various types of mortar bricks. Easyhold’s products are made from nylon 6.6, making them last longer than other products in corrosive areas.
