PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Trial mining at the Boorara gold mine, in Western Australia, has started, with owner MacPhersons Resources announcing plans to develop a 20 m openpit.
Some 30 000 t of ore will be hauled to a nearby mill and processing is expected to take between 10 and 12 days.
“The start-up at Boorara is an exciting step in the company’s development plans for Boorara and we now watch with interest the deeper reverse circulation drilling at Boorara and the results from the current metallurgical testwork on the high-grade Nimbus silver lodes,” said MacPhersons MD Jeff Williams.
The Boorara project is estimated to host a resource of some 10.8-million tonnes, grading 1 g/t gold for 340 000 oz of gold.
