Cape Town-based containerised electricity generation company SustainPower hosted its official gas-to-power product launch at African Utility Week, held in Cape Town last month.
The company focuses on containerised gas-to-power and solar solutions with the integration of technologies such as water purification and desalination.
The expo was the first official public showcasing of SustainPower’s concept and products, where the company displayed its MAN Engine gas-to-power generators, combined heat and power plants and solar solutions. The launch was attended by several key roleplayers in the industry, as well as Cape Town Deputy Mayor Ian Neilson.
“We have achieved a huge amount in a short space of time. It was wonderful to see it all come together so successfully. [The expo] enabled us to demonstrate that, despite being new, we are already serious players in the renewable-energy sector,” said SustainPower founder and MD Tobias Hobbach during the event.
One of SustainPower’s differentiating factors is its strategic partnerships with a variety of international brands, such as MAN Engines, Motortech and Unique Group.
“We don’t believe in reinventing the wheel but in improving it. We identified key industry brands, based on the quality of their workmanship, reputation and products, and have partnered with them to provide our clients with superior power-generating solutions and an exceptional service offering,” said Hobbach.
