A new flange sealant and gasket maker in the form of a tough and elastic silicone rubber has been launched.
The silicone rubber can tolerate extreme temperatures of below 50 °C to over 300 °C, for short periods, and is chemical-resistant to petrol, diesel, paraffin, water, oil and anti-freeze.
In addition, the rubber is non-corrosive and can be used in a number of applications including, engine sumps, gearboxes, pipe flanges and water pumps.
The Gasket Maker falls under Pratley’s range of adhesives for the automotive industry. “Our new room-temperature-vulcanising silicone Gasket Maker also has no negative effect on electrical components such as vehicle sensors,” Pratley national sales and marketing manager Mark Bell highlights.
Other products in Pratley’s automotive range include, Wondafix Car, Pratlok anaerobic thread lockers, Pratley 1-2-3, Ezeebond, Powda Bond and Safety Cleaner.
The 70-year-old company plans to launch a number of products in the coming year and has also scheduled an automation upgrade of its factory.
