PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Base metals developer Heron Resources has signed a A$12-million earthworks contract for its Woodlawn copper-zinc project, in New South Wales.
The contract with Ertech includes the construction of the main road access from the sealed Collector road, process plant site leveling and foundation preparation, haulage road construction from the plant to the underground box cut, excavation of the box cut for the underground access and construction of a tailings storage facility.
Heron told shareholders on Wednesday that the earthworks contract was the last of the pre-financing material contracts to be entered into, with the contract remaining subject to board decision to proceed, following the completion of the Woodlawn financing process.
At steady state, Woodlawn is expected to produce 70 000 t/y of zinc concentrates, 30 000 t/y of copper concentrates and 25 000 t/y of lead concentrates.
