JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – TSX- and NYSE-listed Great Panther Silver has reported a fatality at its Guanajuato mine complex, in Mexico.
The primary silver mining and exploration company said a full investigation into the cause of the accident, in which a contract scooptram operator was fatally injured on Friday evening, was ongoing.
“We will commit all available resources to determine the causes of this accident so that we can work to prevent such a tragedy from occurring again," CEO and president Robert Archer said in a statement on Monday.
Safety procedures were being reviewed and reinforced to ensure safety remained the top priority across all operations to ensure all identified safety and health hazards were eliminated or minimised.
