JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Gascoyne Resources has executed a contract to appoint NRW Holdings as the mining contractor at its Dalgaranga gold project, which will start operations in the second quarter of next year.
The a$300-million contract is for openpit mining services, as well as drill and blast operations over a six-year period.
NRW was named preferred tenderer in October.
Executing the contract with NRW is the last material contract needed for the project’s development Gascoyne MD Mike Dunbar said in a statement on Wednesday.
NRW will initially have 160 personnel on site, with a peak employment of 200.
The Dalgaranga openpit operation is expected to deliver 623 000 oz of gold over the six-year mine life, with the project expected to require a capital spend of A$86-million.
