Boksburg-based industrial powered access equipment supplier SkyJacks showcased its range of new and existing powered access, materials handling and lifting equipment at this year’s Electra Mining Africa (EMA) exhibition, held last month at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.
SkyJacks also announced a new contract with Italy-based cranes company Jekko, to distribute its mini cranes in South Africa.
The Jekko contract, secured six months before EMA 2024, presents a new and exciting product for SkyJacks to share with clients, says SkyJacks MD Alistair Bennett.
SkyJacks displayed the Jekko SPX328CL mini crane, which is a lithium battery- powered crane, and the SPX532CDH, which is one of Jekko’s diesel-powered mini crane model.
“The SPX328CL has a lifting capacity of 2.8 t, while the SPX532CDH can lift 3.2 t, making them both compact heavy-lifters. The Jekko mini cranes, developed and manufactured in Italy, are suited to applications in confined spaces while still offering great lifting capacity and agility,” Bennett tells Mining Weekly.
Owing to an advanced tread and a double outrigger position design, Jekko mini cranes are suited to uneven ground or difficult-to-reach places.
They can be operated manually using the on-board dashboard or the radio remote controller, with software developed by Jekko.
Extensive Portfolio
SkyJacks represents a range of materials handling original-equipment manufacturers, including Dingli, Faresin, Jekko, GEDA and ALR, with a special focus on the markets of South Africa and the Southern African Development Community.
Bennett describes the Dingli BA44RT as “a modern piece of equipment”, offering working heights ranging from 16 m to 44 m, and available with diesel, electric and hybrid power options to suit customer requirements.
Dingli can also supply reliable and efficient electric slab scissor lifts and vertical lifts.
The Faresin range of telehandlers includes models with diverse configurations catering to the agriculture, construction and mining sectors.
Known for their robust design, GEDA construction hoists enhance worker safety and operational efficiency, with models such as the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP F and GEDA Solarlift offering unique solar PV lifting qualities, as well as safe vertical transportation of valuable modules and the ability to hold sensitive cargo safely in place.
Designed to withstand demanding environments, the ALR lever hoist’s and chain block’s ranges feature durability and enhanced safety standards, making them suitable for underground mining and engineering applications.
“By showcasing our latest equipment, we have provided companies with the opportunity to identify solutions that match their unique requirements with our versatile product range designed to meet the diverse needs of the mining, construction and industrial maintenance sectors,” concludes Bennett.
