JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) on Monday reported that an explosion-related incident at the company’s Rustenburg East mine fatally injured an employee on August 18.
“Our sincerest condolences are with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased who we are assisting and supporting during this very sad time.
“As is the case following such incidents, an independent and comprehensive process is under way to understand the circumstances,” Amplats CEO Chris Griffith said.
