JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – The second phase of the environmental- and social-impact assessment (Esia) for Aim-listed Edenville Energy’s integrated Rukwa coal-to-power project in western Tanzania is complete.
The relevant documents for its Rukwa project have been approved by the Tanzanian National Environment Management Council.
Edenville on Wednesday said it would now focus on the completion of the main Esia report, which will include extensive data and consultation with the local community and stakeholders.
The final stage of the Esia will be completed in parallel with the bankable feasibility study for the power plant.
The 120 MW Rukwa coal-to-power project hosts 171-million tons of measured and indicated coal, sufficient to support a power station over a 30-year project life.
