A digital display and three-button operation system allows the switch points of the electronic flow switch model FSD-4 to be freely and easily configured directly on the instrument or by means of IO-link.
The electronic flow switch from WIKA offers flexibility in monitoring and controlling flow, based on the velocities of liquid media.
The unit can yield absolute values in various units as well as relative flow values, and display values on the digital indicator. While a flow rate value is assigned to the first switch point, it can be defined at the second switching output whether the switch should switch at a second flow value or at a specific temperature value for the medium.
The model FSD-4 can be used for a range of applications, including:
- Control of cooling lubricant systems
- Monitoring of coolant circuits
- Control of filter units
- Dry run protection in pumps
The unit can also be fitted with an analogue output for flow or temperature values. Depending on the configuration, the model FSD-4 has up to two switch points plus analogue output, which can be freely programmed.
The parameters are set either by three-button operation on the instrument or by means of IO-Link. When changing the instrument, the settings for the respective measuring location can be transferred directly to the new flow switch. This helps to eliminate the need for any repeat parameterisation at the measuring location and reduces the necessary integration effort. With IO-Link, additional functions such as an operating hours counter or max value memory can be called up and used for condition monitoring.
WIKA asserts that the wide range of parameterisation options makes its model FSD-4 an economical flow switch for a variety of applications and installation situations.
