PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Deflector gold project, in Western Australia, was on target to start first production by June this year, owner Doray Minerals said on Wednesday.
Commissioning of the new purpose built 480 000 t/y gravity/flotation processing plant was scheduled for May, with the start of underground mining slated for June.
The Deflector mine was expected to deliver first gold by mid-2016. The openpit operation was expected to produce 1 972 oz of gold and the underground mine would deliver 348 592 oz of gold, over a mine life of about six years.
Following the construction and commissioning of Deflector, Doray was forecasting a total production of 140 000 oz/y from its two operations, with all-in sustaining costs targeted at less than A$1 000/oz.
