JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Iron-ore miner Atlas Iron has appointed Eugene Davis as chairperson of its board, replacing Cheryl Edwardes.
Davis joined the board after a debt-restructuring plan was implemented in May.
The ASX-listed company said on Monday that Davis, who is the founder of a privately held consulting firm, was a “highly experienced director and businessman”. He has been a director and chairperson of a number of companies in various sectors, including mining, metals, energy, oil and gas, among others.
Edwardes would remain on the board of Atlas as a nonexecutive director and would be a member of the audit and risk, the remuneration and the nomination and corporate governance committees.
