German industrial pumps manufacturer Habermann Aurum Pumpen is set to showcase its latest innovations at MINExpo 2024 as it responds to increasing demand for sustainable and durable equipment for harsh environments.
At MINExpo 2024 – to be held on September 24 to 26, in Las Vegas, in the US – the company will present its established pumps portfolio, which includes specialised pumps for mining, mineral processing and tunnel construction.
The event will offer Habermann Aurum Pumpen the opportunity to engage with industry leaders and further refine its products based on customer feedback.
“We are looking forward to hearing directly from attendees about the challenges they face and how we can continue to improve our solutions,” says international sales director Markus Michael.
He adds that the innovations presented at MINExpo will reflect the company’s commitment to addressing the evolving needs of industrial operations, emphasising durability, efficiency and sustainability in the most demanding environments.
Habermann Aurum Pumpen has developed a new generation of pumps designed to improve efficiency and reduce maintenance in abrasive and corrosive conditions.
“Customers are no longer just looking for reliability, they want sustainability and efficiency in their operations,” says Michael.
In response, the company has refined its HPK pump series, incorporating modular construction that reduces downtime by enabling quick replacement of hydraulic parts.
The HPK-series pumps are specially designed to handle highly abrasive fluids –such as in desanding processes and chemicals processing environments, where corrosive slurries present unique challenges – with internal linings made from proprietary polyurethane blends, under the brand name APFlex.
“These linings not only resist corrosion, but also significantly optimise wear behaviour, compared to fully metallic high-chrome execution,” he explains.
Consequently, the company can offer customised solutions tailored to specific operational needs
.
However, one of the primary challenges is designing pumps that can withstand the extreme wear caused by abrasive materials such as sand, gravel and ore.
The Habermann Aurum Pumpen KB-series of centrifugal pumps, manufactured from high-chrome alloys to withstand harsh conditions with solid particle sizes up to 8 inches, addresses this need.
“The wear and tear in these environments are inevitable, but we’ve engineered solutions to significantly reduce the impact,” says Michael.
The company’s HPK pumps, for example, use elastic linings that create a “trampoline effect”, repelling solid particles instead of allowing them to wear down critical components.
This technology, combined with wear-resistant materials, prolongs the life span of the pumps and reduces the need for frequent part replacements. Consequently, the environmental footprint and the cost of downtime are significantly reduced.
Global Reach
As the company expands its presence globally, maintaining consistent quality across diverse markets has become a priority.
“We’ve been refining our products for nearly a century, and we continue to manufacture in Germany under strict quality control,” states Michael.
The company’s adherence to international standards and collaboration with local partners ensures that its pumps meet the demands of different regions without compromising on quality.
Habermann Aurum Pumpen also provides extensive after-sales support, including 24/7 online assistance and on-site maintenance services, with a global service network ready to respond to customer needs.
Habermann Aurum Pumpen is also working on expanding its KBKM series by providing larger dimensions and higher capacities, designed to meet demands for heavy-duty pump solutions.
“We are not just scaling up existing models – we’re designing new pumps from the ground up, focusing on performance and reliability,” concludes Michael.
