South African bearings and power transmission products distributor Bearings International (BI) predicts another successful year for the Rocol range of products, as a result of increased interest in the lubricant Rocol Reaming, Tapping, Drilling (RTD) range for reaming, tapping and drilling operations.
BI product and engineering business unit head Ross Trevelyan reiterates that it is part of the company’s strategy of being a total solutions partner for its customers in stocking some of the best products and brands globally, which includes the Rocol range.
“The Rocol RTD range contains technically advanced extreme-pressure additives that reduce friction at the cutting edge. This means that Rocol RTD promotes a superior surface finish, resulting in cost savings and improved quality,” says BI product manager Richard Lundgren.
He notes that Rocol RTD is available in liquid and spray formulations. The liquid formulation is available in 400 g, 5 ℓ and 20 ℓ quantities. This format reduces tool wear and breakages, increases the rates of metal removal, and contributes to greater dimensional accuracy and repeatability of the finished hole, be it reamed, tapped or drilled.
Moreover, the liquid formulation doubles tool life, and is also suitable for use in all metals, including aluminium, Lundgren says.
He says the spray formulation, available as a 400 mℓ aerosol-applied metal-cutting lubricant, is also suitable for use in all metals, including hardened steels and titanium, even in the most severe cutting operations.
“Additionally the safety and quality of BI’s products gives the end-user peace of mind and reduces downtime, while increasing worker and consumer safety,” he adds.
Lundgren highlights that, when customers buy Rocol products, they are also gaining the advantage of having 24/7 access to aftersales support and product data sheets that conform to the latest regulations, leading industry expertise and a team of professionals who are passionate about customer service.
“Rocol’s range extends far beyond cutting fluids: it has a leading range of premium lubricants and oils for any application – from . . . specialised maintenance and repair products for industries such as food and beverage . . . to site-safety systems such as our factory floor line marking systems,” he concludes.
