PERTH (miningweekly.com) – The Blair Athol coal mine, in Queensland, is on track to deliver its first coal sales in August, ASX-listed TerraCom reported on Tuesday.
The project is expected to ramp up to a production rate of two-million tonnes a year by the fourth quarter of 2017.
TerraCom told shareholders that mining and rehabilitation work at Blair Athol had progressed on schedule to meet the first coal sales timeline, with bulk earthworks having started on the rehabilitation element of the operation.
Initial overburden has also been removed and placed in its final position to facilitate the first coal extraction.
