PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed bauxite producer Australian Bauxite has delivered 30 000 t of bauxite ahead of schedule, from its Bald Hill mine, in Tasmania.
The customer will pay 90% of the invoice value immediately, with the balance due on proof of weight.
Australian Bauxite noted that because the delivery was completed three weeks ahead of schedule, an additional 5 000 t of a different cement-grade specification has been agreed, and will be carried in a separate hold in the same ship.
The company said that the multi-product transport arrangement was how Australian Bauxite could deliver bauxite on several specifications in separate ship holds for delivery to separate customers, allowing for cheaper transport costs and the ability to service each customer’s specific grade requirements.
Meanwhile, Australian Bauxite has also restarted bauxite sales into the fertilizer industry over the past month, with the company expected to continue at low tonnage for the rest of the year.
