TORONTO (miningweekly.com) – TSX- and Aim-listed Aureus Mining has poured 4 500 oz of gold in the first 14 days of commercial production at its New Liberty gold mine, in Liberia, after declaring commercial production on March 1.
The company advised that it had produced 19 200 oz of gold since the start of the year, which it sold and shipped to the MKS PAMP refinery in Switzerland.
Aureus on Thursday reported that the process plant had continued to operate at a stable run-rate in line with original design specifications, and that it continued to achieve recovery levels of more than 90%.
Mining operations at New Liberty focused on the Kinjor and Larjor pits, and excavation work continued to focus on the completion of the protective flood bund along the southern boundary of the pit limits, in preparation for operations throughout the wet season.
