PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Iron-ore miner Atlas Iron has appointed Cliff Lawrenson as MD and CEO, effective from February 1.
Lawrenson, who replaces David Flanagan, is currently MD of ASX-listed phosphate company Avenira, and was previously the CEO of iron-ore developer FerrAus.
Atlas chairperson Eugene Davis said that Lawrenson’s skills and experience were well suited to meet Atlas’s requirements as it embarked on the next stage of its journey.
“He is well versed in project development, he knows the Western Australian resources industry well and he has extensive experience at both management and corporate levels.
“Atlas is now well positioned with a stronger balance sheet and robust cash flow,” said Davis.
Flanagan resigned in June this year. Nonexecutive director Daniel Harris stood in as interim MD.
