PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Junior Artemis Resources has struck gold at its Mt Sholl mining lease, near Karratha, in Western Australia.
The company told shareholders on Tuesday that recent exploration had exposed high-grade gold mineralisation, with significant free gold in multiple quartz rock work systems at the mining lease.
CEO Ed Mead said that the results from the work done to date were "outstanding", with a 27 kg quartz specimen sent to the Perth Mint, which produced 38.3 oz of gold and 5.3 oz of silver.
“It is not every day that you send samples to the Perth Mint instead of an assay laboratory.”
Artemis will now undertake extensive rock chip and channel sampling, as well as rehabilitating historic alluvial disturbance and undertaking a drilling programme and submitting regulatory approvals.
