PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Metals miner Avanco Copper has reported an increase in both copper and gold production for the three months to September.
The ASX-listed company on Wednesday reported that copper-in-concentrate for the September quarter was up 3% on the June quarter, to 3 698 t, while gold-in-concentrate production was up 6.1%, to 3 142 oz.
Avanco told shareholders that production from its Antas mine, in Brazil, was impacted by lower head grades during the quarter. However, processed tonnes were increased accordingly, and as a result, the operation’s production exceeded expectations.
Meanwhile, copper-in-concentrate sales were up by 9.5%, to 3 433 t, while gold-in-concentrate sales were up by 7.7%, to 2 699 oz.
Avanco noted that with the increased production from the Antas mine during the quarter ended September, the company was confident of achieving its full-year production targets.
