State-owned Transnet has permanently appointed Garry Pita as CFO, effective February 1.
Pita, a chartered accountant, was appointed acting CFO in August 2015, succeeding Anoj Singh who was seconded to Eskom.
With ten years of service at Transnet, Pita led key strategic aspects of its finance function, including heading up the International Financial Reporting Standard Conversion and Transnet’s group internal control.
As CFO, he is responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial strategy, including overseeing the company’s funding and capital investment programmes, managing procurement, financial risks and adherence to the highest standards of governance and internal controls.
