Engineering equipment supplier Mechanical Rotating Solutions (MRS) was appointed in August as a service and product supplier by international pumps company HCP Pumps’ South African subsidiary, HCP Pumps South Africa.
MRS MD Franscois Steenkamp explains that being appointed to the network of accredited suppliers ensures that MRS has access to the HCP Pumps product range, as well as support from the company’s machine shop in Modderfontein, Gauteng, which is equipped to repair and test different types of pumps.
“What makes HCP Pumps such an important partner to add to our product offering is the fact that not only can its products be found in the mining and construction industries, it also has a smaller range of pumps used by domestic households, plumbers and farmers,” says Steenkamp.
HCP’s submersible pumps have proved popular across a variety of industry applications, including agricultural, industrial and mining applications. HCP Pumps offers 300 models of submersible pumps to cater for all individual requirements, including pumps for sewage, wastewater, clean water, swimming pool water, agricultural irrigation, grinders for cutting up large solids present in water, dewatering pumps and sump pumps.
HCP Pumps has supplied and installed pumps to notable mining companies in the country, such as Anglo American Platinum, AngloGold Ashanti and Harmony Gold, as well as municipalities, including Ekurhuleni metropolitan municipality, City of Cape Town and Ethekweni metropolitan municipality. In addition, the South African National Defence Force, hotel and resort Sun City and State-owned freight utility Transnet have also made use of HCP Pumps’ submersible pumps.
HCP Pumps is equally pleased with allowing MRS to showcase HCP Pumps SA. “MRS is well placed to deliver the best service and product support of the HCP Pumps brand to our growing customer base. We pride ourselves on exceptional services level, whether it be the distribution, installation, maintenance, service or refurbishment of our industry partners’ products.”
MRS expressed excitement at the significance of the choice to allow the company to stock HCP Pumps products. “Adding the HCP range is of great significance to us, as it increases our product offering, as well as product choice, not only for our biggest indus- trial clients, but also for private users and the agricultural sector, where a new dimension to our product offering has been added,” Steenkamp concludes.
